Everytime I wanted to download a file via torrent I would download the torrent file, manually add it to Transmission, wait until the download finishes, then move the file to their respective foldesr: movie files to Movie folder, mp3 files to Music folder, png and jpg files to Picture folder, you get the picture.Īfter looking into the Preferences options, I realized that I can automate the process using Transmission's built-in features. And oh boy, it is rewarding.Īll this time, I stuck with the mundane manual torrenting tasks. All the user has to do is dig a little deeper into its Preferences (Command + Comma). Unfortunately, there’s no in-built search, and proxy server support isn’t offered - and there’s no support available if you have any issues. It’s ideal for more advanced users, with features like Daemon support and command line tools. It turns out that Transmission is a torrent downloader that has more convenient features under its hood. Conclusion: Transmission is one of the best free, open-source torrent clients for Mac. It never complains, it just works while I never really pay attention to it. It sits dutifully in the background ready to fetch any torrent downloads that I throw at it. One of the examples of great and free things that I took for granted is the torrent downloader known as Transmission. When comparing Transmission vs Torrent, the Slant community recommends Transmission for most people.
